TRC Climbathon
Climb for a Cause.
On March 2, 2012, TRC will climb on board to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. Ronald McDonald Houses provide homes away from home for families who travel to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. The House in Durham is building a new addition that will help house nearly twice as many families each year, and TRC wants to support that effort!
We hope to raise at least $40,000 while flexing our climbing muscle to the max. And knowing the TRC community, we fully expect to raise much more than our goal!

Event Info
The TRC Climbathon will begin at 8 PM March 2, 2012 and end at 8 AM March 3, 2012. Yes, this is a 12-hour event. We are going to climb all night and have a blast doing it!
Caffeine and snacks will be available throughout the night for participants, and a competitors’ breakfast will be held immediately after the event.
Team Info
A maximum of twenty-four (24) 4-person teams will climb for 12 hours straight to gain as much altitude as possible. Teams will change routes every 30 minutes so that every team climbs the same terrain. Team registration is $100 and includes a high performance Climbathon shirt and a bag for each competitor. After registration, teams must raise a minimum of $1,000 in order to compete at the event.
Ronald McDonald House will set up a fundraising webpage for each team, allowing all team donations to be accepted online. There is also be a generic donation page that will total all fund-raising to date.

We will be hosting some informational sessions about the Climbathon at Triangle Rock Club:
• Tuesday, December 20 at 7 PM
• Tuesday, January 3 at 7 PM
Prizes
Yes, this is a competition! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams in altitude and the top 3 teams in fundraising. It is possible for the same team to win in both categories. Prizes will be awarded as soon as results are compiled.
• First prize teams will receive a prize pack including a $500 credit at TRC for each team member plus additional awards from vendors such as REI, The North Face, and Great Outdoor Provision Company.
• Second prize teams will receive a prize pack including a $250 credit at TRC for each team member plus additional awards from vendors such as REI, The North Face, and Great Outdoor Provision Company.
• Third prize teams will receive a prize pack including a $100 credit at TRC for each team member plus additional awards from vendors such as REI, The North Face, and Great Outdoor Provision Company.
